Accreditation


The Physician Assistant Program at Wingate University received provisional accreditation through the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) on March 10, 2008. All new PA programs receive provisional accreditation after satisfying the more than 200 standards set by ARC-PA. All new PA programs are termed "provisionally accredited" until the inaugural class graduates. Wingate University’s inaugural class graduates in December 2010. ARC-PA conducted a two-day evaluation of the program during a site visit in June 2010. Full accreditation will be determined by ARC-PA in September 2010.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) granted approval on January 10, 2008, for Wingate University to offer the Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree.
